Carnival Fried Cheese Curds
Bring the carnival to your backyard with these crowd pleasing cornmeal deep fried cheese curds!
Recipe Ingredients
Battered Cheese Curds
- ¾ cup cornmeal
- ¾ cup AP Flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 400g package Paradise Island Cheese Curds
- Oil for frying
Dipping Sauce
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 cloves garlic, grated
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper
Recipe Directions
1. Preheat oil for frying to 325° F
2. In a medium bowl combine cornmeal, AP flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt
3. In a small bowl combine buttermilk, egg, vegetable oil and honey
4. Add buttermilk mixture into the cornmeal mixture and fully combine
5. Dip each cheese curd into the batter and tap off excess batter
6. Carefully place each battered curd into the hot oil, fry for 2-3 minutes until curds are
floating and golden brown
7. Carefully remove cheese curds and place on paper towel to remove excess oil
8. Place cheese curds on a serving platter and serve hot with dipping sauce

9. Add all dip ingredients into a small bowl and combine
