Holiday Pecan Crusted Cheese Curds with Cranberry Dipping Sauce

These cheese curds covered in a pecan crust are warm and gooey on the inside and crispy on the outside. Serve with a side of cranberry dipping sauce and you’ve got the perfect appetizer for the holiday season.

Recipe Ingredients

Pecan Crusted Cheese Curds

  • ¾ cup all purpose flour
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp. milk
  • 1 ½ cups panko crumbs
  • ½ cup pecans, ground into small crumbs
  • 1 400g pack Paradise Island Cheese Curds
  • Oil for frying

Cranberry Dipping Sauce

  • 1 ½ cups fresh cranberries
  • 3 tbsp. orange juice
  • ½ tbsp. maple syrup
  • salt to taste

Recipe Directions

  1. Preheat oil for frying to 350° F.
  2. In a medium bowl combine all purpose flour and salt.
  3. In a medium bowl combine eggs and milk and mix well to combine.
  4. In a medium bowl combine panko and pecans and combine well.
  5. Dip each cheese curd into the flour mixture, then the egg mixture and lastly the panko
    mixture.
  6. Carefully place each crusted curd into the hot oil, fry for 1-2 minutes until curds are
    floating and golden brown.
  7. Carefully remove cheese curds and place on paper towel to remove excess oil.
  8. Place cheese curds on a serving platter and serve hot with dipping sauce.

Dipping Sauce
9. Add all dip ingredients into a small pot and on low- medium heat cook until cranberries blister and the sauce thickens (about 20 minutes).
