Apple Cheddar Scones
Apples and cheddar make a delicious sweet and savoury pairing, especially when combined into warm, flaky scones. Check out Lucas Smith’s golden apple cheddar scones made with lots of Paradise Island Lactose-Free Old Cheddar. They’re perfect for fall!
Recipe Ingredients
- 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
- 1/4 Cup Sugar
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Cup Shredded Old-Cheddar
- 2 Large Eggs
- 2 Large Apples (Chopped and baked)
- 1/4 Cup Cream
Recipe Directions
- Start by baking the peeled and chopped apples for about 20 minutes to soften and sweeten the apples
- In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder, sugar, eggs, cooled apples, cheese, and cream. Lightly mix all together making sure to not overmix the dough (I recommend using a dough hook to avoid the mess).
- Once all combined, form the dough into 3-inch balls and line them in a baking tray. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees until the scones have risen and get a light golden brown on top. Remove from the heat and allow to cool slightly before enjoying!
